Scrum Master

Responsible for monitoring the scrum processes increasing the team efficiency, motivating the team, spins, argues for changes that will ensure quality and timelines

As NovoPayment’s next Scrum Master, you will:

  • Guide the development of an agile team into an effective delivery unit 

  • Assist the Product Owner with keeping the backlog groomed 

  • Assist the team by implementing effective agile disciplinary practices 

  • Ensure the team’s process works within organizational guidelines and standards of practice 

  • Foster self-organizing, high performing teams 

  • Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products, and processes 

  • Excellent communicator, able to gain the respect of the team, external stakeholders, and management 

  • Identify problems, impediments, dependencies, and other team dysfunctions, and then facilitate quick resolution.

  • Project risk identification and analysis

  • Facilitate the development process 

  • Be a scrum master for up to three scrum teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work 

  • Facilitate agile activities and meetings, including inception, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews 

  • Ensure cross-team coordination 

  • Maintain relevant metrics that provide organizational visibility

Requirements

  • CSM certification 

  • Knowledge of or certification in SAFe methodologies and PMI

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience associated with financial and transactional services, including a strong understanding of customer/stakeholder relationships, business analysis, prioritization, estimation and capacity management. Mobile app development experience preferred 

  • Must have a thorough understanding of iterative/incremental software development and implementation of technology services in Clients.

  • Complete understanding of project management and agile processes such as PMI, Scrum, XP and/or Kanban 

  • Must have recognized education in project management and agile processes, certifications preferred 

  • Must have been a member of an agile or PMI team for at least 2 years 

  • Able to lead a team to make realistic and achievable delivery commitments 

  • Understand agile metrics and reporting techniques 

  • Experience to explain and promote agile engineering practices such as pair programming, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD and refactoring preferred 

  • Experience using project management tools like Microsoft Project, Jira or Trello to track and make visible sprint backlog workflow preferred
